“Good communication, horizon-scanning, and friendly, timely advice are all essential.”

“Having been based in Hong Kong for over 15 years, the majority of my work is cross-border and always has international elements - I have worked with clients in multiple jurisdictions around Asia.

M&A has always been a core part of my work and we've seen every side of the deal including, in recent years, working with underwriters as W&I vetting counsel. This is always challenging as it requires us to look at M&A from a new angle, and it can often be fast paced. It's rewarding work for the whole team.

Our clients come from various sectors, most recently in Retail, F&B and Private Equity. I've also worked with numerous insurance sector clients over the years, both insurers and intermediaries, including advising on Hong Kong regulatory matters.
We’re always seeking to understand the client's business and its goals and aiming to give straightforward, practical, advice that furthers those goals without bringing unwanted complexity.

We understand that our clients are in fast-moving sectors and they need responsive lawyers.  Consequently, we always aim to communicate early, understand the context, and get advice out as soon as we can.”

Andrew’s recent work highlights:

Acting for a market-leading international insurance broker on matters in Asia across M&A and regulatory.

Advising an international F&B Brand on franchise issues and restructuring.

Working with German shipping container company on restructuring its Asia business.
