RPC seals strategic alliance with US law firm

Published on 26 February 2019

Our insurance practice has entered into a strategic alliance with US firm, Hinshaw & Culbertson. Headquartered in Chicago Illinois, Hinshaw & Culbertson has 21 offices across the United States including in New York, Massachusetts, Florida and California and has a strong insurance sector focus.

Whilst the global Terralex network will remain core to the RPC international strategy, this new alliance will see the two firms build on their current insurance sector relationship by collaborating more closely across various lines of business, including D&O, complex coverage, professional indemnity, medical and marine.

Global head of insurance at RPC, Simon Laird, said of the news: “We are thrilled to be making this announcement just after the launch of the Annual International Insurance Review. Our insurer clients face increasingly global challenges. As far as legal services go, we believe in working with the best local firm for the job. But the US is different because it is such a large and mature insurance market. By joining up with Hinshaw we can develop targeted products, solutions and learnings which can benefit our clients across both the UK and US. We look forward to building on this development throughout 2019 in line with our core RPC values.”

“As one of the leading law firms representing insurers in the United States, we never lose focus on serving our clients and providing the representation and solutions they need to take advantage of the opportunities and to tackle the challenges confronting them” says Scott Seaman Co-Chair of Hinshaw’s Insurance Services Practice Group.  RPC’s reputation in the insurance market precedes them and together our offering is extremely strong. He adds “our strategic alliance with RPC will produce industry-wide assets and client-centric solutions required in the fast-paced and highly competitive global reinsurance market.  We put some of the world’s top legal minds and talent to work for the benefit of our firms’ respective clients.”
